For helpful how to videos, be sure to visit http://www.Lowes.com/Videos. The drill is a versatile tool that can do many jobs. And it's easy to operate. Your drill comes with a battery and charger. You can't use the drill without it, so it's a good idea to keep a spare battery on a charger so you don't get stranded in the middle of a project. Your drill has controls for forward and reverse and speed control. Remember that a lower speed means more power.

There are two common types of drill bits. Bit for drilling holes and driver bits for driving fasteners. A normal drill kit will come with a variety of sizes.

Here's a tip: push the bit in all the way, then back it out bout an 1/8th of an inch, that gives the chuck a better grip on the bit and allows it to tighten on the bit better.

Proper drilling protocol: Whether you're drilling or driving, the same basic form applies. Put on your safety gear, then hold the drill perpendicular to the surface, that keeps the bit from wandering or breaking. Tip: if you're a beginner, hold a square next to the drill so you see & feel the correct alignment.
