Power tool batteries are providing more power, but many are becoming much larger; the Bosch CORE18V Battery, however, provides a huge amount of power at minimal weight. It is part of the REVOLT 18-volt cordless product system that offers superior performance than the previous generation of 18V batteries, but it is compatible with the lineup of Bosch 18V tools.
How does this happen? Bosch employs the 20700 cell, which for a slight increase in size is able to produce up to 80% more power than the standard 18650 cell. This power-to-size ratio is what the buzz is all about. Of course, there are other engineering requirements to take full advantage of the advanced Lithium-ion technology, such as welded connections for efficiency and CoolPack 2.0 for cooler operation. But the bottom line is that the CORE18V produces up to 1,440 Watts of energy, 80% more than previous-generation cells.
Power tool performance with CORE18V
Power tool operation in high-load applications like grinding or drilling concrete has traditionally been done with corded tools, but that is changing with REVOLT 18V power tools powered by the CORE18V battery. REVOLT is able to deliver corded performance because this new generation of cordless tools can now provide sufficient power and runtime. In independent testing, the Bosch GBH18V-26 SDS-plus® Bulldog™ Rotary Hammer being powered by the next-generation CORE18V battery delivered up to 15% more holes using a 1/2 In. bit drilling 5 In. deep than previous-generation 18V 6.0 Ah batteries; with 1 In. holes drilling 6 In. deep, it delivered up to 32% more holes. That equals more productivity for the user.

Compact and cool with your power tool
Maintaining a compact size with the CORE18V means that a user operating a cordless power tool is able to have similar comfort and maneuverability with greater power and runtime; this in very important when doing some overhead drilling or driving in a difficult situation, for example. The CORE18V weighs only 1.8 Lbs. The CORE18V also has CoolPack 2.0 technology, designed to transfer more heat to the outer surface, resulting in up to 35 percent better cooling effect than previous CoolPack batteries and up to 135 percent longer battery life than batteries that don't have CoolPack technology.
